Job Summary
The Department of Laboratory Medicine at Geisinger is seeking a board-certified Clinical Chemist or Clinical Toxicologist to join our expanding laboratory team.
Job Duties
+ Share clinical and technical responsibility for chemistry and toxicology testing with three clinical chemists. Research is not required.
+ Ensure quality, harmonization, and standardization across 9 hospital laboratories and 6 clinic labs.
+ Geisinger Laboratory performs over 15 million laboratory tests annually.
+ Department includes 44 pathologists and PhDs.
Position Details
+ Qualifications: PhD, DCLS, MD, or DO with board certification or eligibility in clinical chemistry or clinical toxicology.
+ Experience: Prior work in a CAP-accredited (or equivalent) clinical environment is required.
+ Desired Skills: Strong communication and leadership abilities, strategic thinking, project management experience, and expertise in mass spectrometry assay development.
+ Academic Role: Academic appointment at Geisinger College of Health Science is standard. Teaching responsibilities include medical students, residents, fellows, clinical laboratory scientists, and other allied health professionals.
