PAID INTERNSHIP: $23.00/Hour

Target 11-week Internship Dates: 5/18/26 – 7/30/26
(4-10 work schedule M-Th 6:30am - 5:00pm) Some flexibility with scheduled hours. May have the opportunity for one day a week remote work (conditions apply).
The purpose of this internship is for an individual to participate in Reliability Engineering's Electrical Engineering responsibilities. You will help identify solutions to technical multi-disciplinary engineering problems that require the use of independent judgment and initiative in making technical decisions of considerable difficulty and impact. In addition, the internship will provide opportunities to evaluate and develop asset health indicators and tools for large synchronous motors, power transformers, and associated equipment.
Position Responsibilities
1. Participate with other Electrical Engineers in executing Engineering support activities for maintenance, troubleshooting, and design activities.
2. Become familiar with how maintenance and asset health assessment work is performed from an equipment owners perspective.
3. Participate in performing field evaluation, asset health assessments, and developing maintenance recommendations.
4. Help develop improved asset health assessment methods and tools.
5. Become familiar with and apply field construction safety standards.
6. At end of the 11-week engagement, the intern will prepare and deliver a presentation which includes:
+ A summary of the work completed
+ What they learned
+ An evaluation of the intern experience at CAP
+ Recommendations for future interns
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
1A. REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Knowledge, Training, Skills and Experience:
+ Junior or higher-level student (or recent grad) working toward a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. May be an undergrad or grad student.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Clear oral communication skills and team leadership ability.
+ Ability to multi-task, adapt to various personality types, and function in a rapidly moving multi-disciplinary environment.
+ Must submit transcripts (unofficial or official) with the online application.
+ Must be legally authorized to work a paid internship in the United States.
