Job Description

We are seeking a **Director of Rehabilitative Services** to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for a comprehensive rehabilitation program serving **inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing populations** . This is a pivotal leadership role for an experienced rehabilitation professional who is passionate about quality, compliance, team development, and advancing patient-centered care.
As a key member of the organization’s management team, the Director partners closely with executive leadership to ensure rehabilitative services—including **Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Audiology** —are delivered with excellence, efficiency, and compassion.
What You’ll Do
Strategic & Operational Leadership
+ Partner with the COO to define the department’s scope of services, mission, goals, and long-term objectives
+ Establish, implement, and continuously improve departmental policies, procedures, and performance standards
+ Ensure all operations support optimal clinical workflows and exceptional patient outcomes
Clinical Quality & Regulatory Excellence
+ Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and accrediting bodies (e.g., Joint Commission)
+ Design and oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
+ Maintain current knowledge of applicable statutes, regulations, and clinical standards
People & Talent Leadership
+ Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
+ Establish competency requirements and administer competency assessments
+ Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development opportunities
+ Lead orientation, continuing education, and skill-building programs
+ Serve as a visible role model who promotes professionalism, collaboration, and engagement
Financial & Resource Stewardship
+ Develop and manage the department’s annual operating and capital budgets
+ Monitor financial performance, explain variances, and ensure responsible fiscal oversight
+ Oversee supply and equipment planning, purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships
+ Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, and methodologies
Education & Academic Partnerships
+ Coordinate and oversee clinical affiliations for students
+ Teach and evaluate students in accordance with academic requirements
+ Promote a culture of learning and active professional involvement
Patient Experience & Organizational Impact
+ Lead guest relations initiatives that enhance the patient and family experience
+ Promote quality improvement, patient safety, staff well-being, and cultural diversity
+ Ensure all licensure, certifications, registries, and Primary Source Verifications are current and compliant
What You Bring
Education & Licensure
+ Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Administration or a related discipline
+ If the master’s degree is not in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology **and**
+ Minimum of five (5) years of medical rehabilitation experience, including at least three (3) years beyond first-level supervision
+ Current Missouri licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Pathologist
Experience & Skills
+ Proven leadership experience in a complex rehabilitation or healthcare environment
+ Strong knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence across the organization
+ Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and patient-centered care
Physical Requirements
+ Ability to assist patients as needed and stand/walk for extended periods
+ Ability to respond appropriately to the age-specific needs of patients served
