Job Description
This role as the **Global Automation and Technology Leader** is a senior-level expert responsible for driving the strategic vision, innovation, and execution of enterprise-wide technology and automation initiatives. This role blends deep technical expertise in industrial automation with leadership in digital transformation, system architecture, and modernization.
The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional efforts to optimize operations, integrate advanced technologies, and ensure alignment with business goals across manufacturing and enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
This role requires both technical and strategic thinking and leadership to define, architect, drive, and deliver tactical automation, digital, and AI technology solutions and platforms across the business.
The individual will work closely with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) and cross-functional global teams, leveraging deep domain expertise in industrial automation, control systems, digital and data-driven analytics, test systems, and artificial intelligence. They will lead and deliver consensus-driven automation solution platforms, mobilize change, and spearhead efforts to implement smart factory initiatives and long-term modernization roadmaps.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
Strategic Leadership
+ Define and execute the long-term technology and automation roadmap aligned with business objectives.
+ Champion digital transformation initiatives, including smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and OT/IT convergence.
+ Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, IIoT, cloud, edge computing) for operational and strategic impact.
System Architecture & Integration
+ Architect scalable, secure, and resilient automation and enterprise technology solutions.
+ Lead integration of control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS), MES, ERP, and cloud platforms.
+ Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability across systems and facilities.
Operational Excellence
+ Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance system reliability.
+ Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts for automation and technology systems.
+ Establish and enforce standards for cybersecurity, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Leadership & Collaboration
+ Serve as a technical mentor and thought leader across engineering, IT, and operations teams.
+ Collaborate with executive leadership, plant managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.
+ Influence decision-making at the enterprise level through data-driven insights and strategic vision.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
+ 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, systems architecture, or technology leadership.
+ Proven track record in leading large-scale modernization and automation projects.
+ Expertise in PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens), SCADA, MES, ERP, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
+ Strong understanding of OT/IT integration, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
+ Project management skills with internal/external integrators with demonstrated experience owning processes / growing capability in yield, quality, and capacity.
+ Experience in developing technical documents – ERS’s, FMEA’s, Risk assessments, and validation plans.
+ Experience with controls automation design and safety standards:
+ Ability to identify and implement Best Practices.
+ Willing to travel domestic and internationally up to 25% of the time.
Desirable Skills:
+ Masters/PHD (or equivalent) in technical concentration/field.
+ 15+ years’ experience in the design, build, programming, and deployment of automation
+ Mechanical design experience in automation equipment such as AutoCAD or Solidworks.
+ Substantial industrial experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
+ Six-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified.
+ ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP)
+ TOGAF (Enterprise Architecture)
+ PMP (Project Management Professional)
+ Cybersecurity certifications relevant to OT/IT environments (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443)
