    The Position

    2026 Summer Intern - Manufacturing Process Engineering

    Department Summary

    Process Engineering is an integral part of Global Operations manufacturing technical support function. We work alongside our manufacturing partners to innovate, optimize and enable high efficient processes in the production environment. We are also responsible for the design and continuous improvement of any production process, allowing creative thinking, problem solving and adding new technology to the site to be part of our roles.

     

    This internship position is located in Tucson, on-site.

    The Opportunity

    + Learn the role of a Roche Process Engineer and assess existing processes and equipment and identify and implement improvements.

    + Lead and/or participate in equipment and process validations.

    + Assist in troubleshooting of processes and/or equipment issues.

    + Implement new or transferred manufacturing processes in a timely manner.

    + Learn how to operate in a GMP environment and effectively manage process changes

    + Assist in designing and implementing new equipment and tools to improve manufacturing efficiencies, reduce ergonomic stress, and improve quality.

    + Update, create and sustain Standard Work documents and update drawings using Pro/Engineer or SolidWorks.

    + Work as part of a project team in the development and/or implementation of new equipment and tools.

    + Technical support for daily production issues related to manufacturing equipment.

    Program Highlights

    + **Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.**

    + **Program start dates are in May/June 2026 (Summer).**

    + **A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.**

    + Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

    + Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

    Who You Are (Required)

    **Required Education:** Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

    **Required Majors:** Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.

    Required Skills:

    + Base knowledge of lean manufacturing, and or base knowledge of medical devices.

    + Knowledge of CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).

    + Strong problem solving skills and a willingness to learn.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

    + Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

    + Student organization and/or study abroad experiences are a plus.

     

    Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

     

    The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson is $23.00 - $28.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
