Vice President Data Science & Customer Insights
The purpose of this role, VP Data Science & Customer Insights **,** is to create the most impactful and efficient approach to insights and analytics and data acquisition and processing across US Pharmaceuticals to accelerate progress toward achieving our 2/50/100 goals. The person must be an outstanding VACC leader, demonstrate insatiable ownership for enterprise success in delivering outcomes, and must have the drive to aggressively pursue radical innovation (AI and others) to eliminate friction and inefficiency and enhance speed, quality, and impact across all parts of our US Pharma business.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, VP Data Science & Customer Insights, are to:
+ Utilize VACC leadership to develop a team which drives US Product and Customer Squad outcomes to achieve our US Pharma enterprise goals;
+ Foster a team that continually pursues radical innovation to build an organization that is progressively faster, more frictionless, more efficient/productive, and more impactful – utilize AI as well as other key methods;
+ Demonstrate broad US Pharma ownership, creating a unified approach to insights, analytics, and data acquisition and processing across functions (e.g., market access, medical, marketing, sales/field) to maximize efficiency and impact in driving to enterprise goals;
+ Utilize cutting edge methods to spread access to data and insight-generating capabilities more broadly across US Pharma to speed progress toward game-changing insights and outcomes in rapid cycles;
+ Understand and instill best practices and industry standards throughout US Pharma;
+ Serve as an active leader and business owner in the US Operating Team and US P&P LT; work directly with USCT to bring the above vision to life;
+ Drive functional excellence and ensure regulatory compliance in primary market research, commercial analytics, commercial reporting, and commercial data strategy (incl. data acquisition, standards, rules, scouting, and quality);
+ Build industry leading data acquisition and processing, insight generation, analytics, forecasting, and fully integrated cross-functional business partnership – in terms of quality, speed, efficiency, and cutting edge methods and rigor);
+ Promote transparent KPIs and reporting that accelerates our 2/50/100 goals;
+ Identify and implement Bayer policies and compliance requirements, as well as industry best practices, and efficiency measures;
+ Ensure staff is trained in Marketing Excellence and Customer Insights framework;
+ Attract and develop high performing talent.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree is required;
+ Experience in marketing, finance and/or analytics function and expertise in state-of-the-art market research and innovation strategies;
+ Solid and proven knowledge of basic and advanced market research instruments; statistical, conjoint analytics, forecasting methodologies; and software tools;
+ Excellent negotiation skills with regard to external as well as internal BPs; advanced problem solving and analytical skills;
+ Strong leadership competencies, communication, planning and organizational skills;
+ Demonstrated capabilities with talent development and VACC leadership;
+ Proven ability to drive US business performance;
+ Strong track record of innovation to advance and transform key capabilities;
+ Open and collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Science and / or Business Administration, MBA preferred;
+ 14 years of business experience; experience in Pharmaceuticals preferred.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $262,240 to $393,360. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
