Under supervision, the Purchasing Coordinator will provide professional level category support in a variety of procurement activities. Provide assistance in on-going category and vendor performance management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Research and identify potential suppliers and vendors.
+ Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers.
+ Maintain strong, positive relationships with suppliers.
+ Manage the supplier database, including contact and pricing information.
+ Evaluate supplier performance and address and issues.
+ Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders.
+ Ensure purchase orders are accurate, complete, and processed in a timely manner.
+ Monitor inventory levels and place orders to replenish stock as needed.
+ Track the status of orders and deliveries, ensuring on-time arrival.
+ Coordinate with internal departments to forecast future needs and manage stock
+ Maintain accurate and detailed records of all purchasing activities.
+ Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies with orders or deliveries.
+ Verify invoices for accuracy and assist with payment processing.
+ Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities and cost analysis.
+ Analyze market trends and company data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
+ Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in accounting or business, or a directly related field and from an accredited college or university; or technical diploma in accounting or business and one (1) year job related experience in a procurement environment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower-level Procurement agent Trainee (FEP019) or Procurement technician (FET112) or position equivalent.
Note: Some may positions require Georgia Procurement Manual area specific certifications(s).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with Team Georgia Marketplace and Statewide contracts with Department of Administrative Services (DOAS).
Requirements/Competencies:
+ Must be able to lift 20 pounds,
+ Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
+ Must be 21 years of age,
+ Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
+ Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
+ Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
