Position summary:
We are seeking students who are eager to learn, self-motivated and are comfortable working independently. This internship will make an impact! You will support and assist with real-life projects in our Distribution Strategy Department. These projects are designed to enhance your communication and teamwork skills, as you will be collaborating with individuals across all functions in our organization. You will work alongside professionals in your field, gaining in-depth knowledge about the energy industry and your chosen field of expertise. You will apply what you have learned in school to impactful projects within a publicly traded, multi-state utility and energy company. Pay: $20 - $23 per hour (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

+ Intern Relocation Adjustment Allowance of $1,000.00 is offered for the purpose of assisting with various expenses associated with your relocation for the internship (less applicable taxes and based on eligibility). Contents of our relocation program are subject to change and may vary based on position.
Reporting Relationship:Manager, Distribution Strategy
Essential Functions:
• Reconcile electric system model database with equipment design and operating data.
• Includes line impedance, protection system, voltage and reactive power control data.
• Assist with distribution system modeling and planning studies and associated documentation.
• Engineer and design electrical system projects and upgrades.
• Develop and coordinate equipment standards and maintenance procedures.
• Provide engineering support to Engineers, Drafting Technicians and other technical groups.
• Assist with project construction.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Additional projects may be assigned as needed.
• Adherence to all safety policies, practices, and procedures to assure a safe working environment.
• Assist and support the other engineering and maintenance activities within the department.
• Support safety, diversity, and social responsibility goals of the department, business unit and corporation.
• Participation in the Company’s Industry Orientation Experiences, which will include some travel and overnight stays.
• Prepare and present a synopsis of experience with the Company at the end of the internship.
What Is Required:
• College sophomore or above working toward Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• No experience required.
What Is Desired:
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and give presentations.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Ability to perform work efficiently, learning to monitor effort in accordance with deadlines.
• Employ standard engineering methods and practices in performing work.
• Ability to concurrently work on multiple projects independently or as part of a team.
• Motivated self-starter.
