    Job Title: Van Driver – Resident Transportation

     

    Employment Type: Perdiem

     

    Reports To: Transportation Coordinator / Facility Manager

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a responsible, courteous, and safety-conscious Van Driver to transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, events, and other approved destinations. The driver plays a key role in ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and punctuality while representing the organization in a professional manner.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Safely transport residents using a company-provided van.

    + Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, including those with mobility challenges.

    + Follow scheduled routes and maintain accurate transport logs.

    + Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and properly maintained.

    + Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and staff.

    + Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company procedures.

    + Report any vehicle issues, delays, or incidents promptly.

    + Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of all residents.

    Requirements:

    + Valid [State] driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    + Prior experience transporting seniors or individuals with special needs is preferred.

    + Ability to assist passengers with wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Must pass background check and drug screening.

    + CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on facility policy).

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to sit, drive, and assist with loading/unloading for extended periods.

    + Lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.

    + Work in varying weather conditions.
