Join an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly automated facility for Hill's Pet Nutrition! We invite you to apply for our **Quality Compliance Specialist position on 1st Shift** at our **Tonganoxie, Kansas** manufacturing facility.
What will you do
As a Quality Compliance Specialist you will support the site in meeting regulatory requirements and Quality standards by aiding in implementing Food Safety, HACCP, GMP's, product registration, and FSMA standards, managing internal audit findings, documenting and communicating the status of CAPA/Non-conformances/FIR programs, ensuring the accuracy and closure of product Holds, guaranteeing formula integrity through daily batching record reviews, and assisting with document creation, review, and operational record review.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
+ Tracks and executes adherence to Hill’s / Colgate Quality Standards and Hill’s Food.
+ Safety Programs. Includes tracking closure of FAP items and maintaining a documentation system with metrics for compliance to cGMPs / FSMA requirements.
+ Documents and tracks progress of the plant quality Internal Audit program which also consists of KPI communication & Forward Action Plan tracking.
+ Owns/Monitors Hold Program and assists in tracking execution of the CAPA / FIR's to meet the expectations of the standards and communication of or results to site Teams.
+ Communicates follow up actions and closing verification in compliance with Quality Standards and applicable regulations of all Internal and external audit findings and CAPA program.
+ Tracks and communicates site KPIs of forward action plans for internal and external audit findings.
+ Updates Regulatory documentation to support product registration and plant compliance for the site which includes working with procurement and regulatory teams.
+ Supports documentation specialists to ensure all documents related to production are reviewed for all finished product release criteria, HACCP and cGMPs compliance prior to release and are properly controlled for audit readiness.
+ Batching Record Review.
+ Performs training to site team on standards and compliance activities.
+ Other support activities as required.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in an alternative discipline with 1+ years functional quality experience.
+ Working knowledge of business process systems such as: Microsoft Office, and Google Productivity Suite.
+ Ability to work irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays supporting startup as needed or required.
+ Working knowledge of GMPs.
+ Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
+ 1+ years of experience in a Quality related field.
+ 1+ years manufacturing environment or prior internship experience.
+ Working knowledge of Food Safety and FDA regulations.
+ HACCP Certification.
+ Certified Auditor.
+ SAP experience.
+ Experience using SPC, Minitab, or other statistical tools.

The Company and our Hill's Tonganoxie Plant maintains a smoke- and tobacco-free facility. No smoking or other use of tobacco products (including, but not limited to, cigarettes, e-cigarettes or vaping devices, pipes, cigars, snuff, or chewing tobacco) is permitted in any part of the building, facility or in vehicles owned, leased, or rented by the Company.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $56,000.00 - $77,500.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
