Application Modernization Architect
_TS/SCI with Polygraph Required_
_Salary Range: $116,000 - $140,000 per year_
Ops Tech Alliance is seeking an **Application Modernization Architect** to help shape the future of mission-driven technology. In this role, you’ll lead the design and execution of strategies that transform legacy applications into secure, scalable, and cloud-ready solutions.
You’ll collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure modernized systems align with both enterprise objectives and mission requirements. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges, driving innovation, and building technology that’s ready for the future.

Responsibilities
+ Lead the assessment and redesign of legacy applications for modernization into cloud-native or hybrid platforms
+ Develop and communicate application modernization strategies and roadmaps tailored to system requirements and organizational objectives
+ Architect end-to-end solutions that address functionality, scalability, security, and compliance
+ Collaborate with development and DevSecOps teams to define application frameworks, migration tools, and cloud integration strategies
+ Ensure alignment with DoD and IC cybersecurity frameworks, accreditation requirements, and development best practices
+ Provide technical oversight during development, migration, testing, and deployment phases
+ Document architectural decisions, designs, and modernization plans
Required Qualifications
+ TS/SCI with Polygraph
+ Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in software architecture with at least 3 years focused on cloud application modernization
+ Proven expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), application refactoring, and legacy system re-engineering
+ Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevSecOps practices, and microservices architecture
+ Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform)
Desired Qualifications
+ Advanced degree in a technical field
+ Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert
+ Prior experience supporting DoD or IC modernization initiatives
+ Familiarity with enterprise service buses, middleware, and integration platforms
