About the Role

ALULA is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to lead and oversee all inbound and outbound material operations. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant shipping/receiving processes that support uninterrupted production and customer fulfillment. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Manage and oversee all shipping and receiving operations to meet departmental and organizational goals

+ Plan for production requirements, storage needs, and inbound/outbound material flow

+ Maintain inbound purchase orders and resolve delivery discrepancies or issues

+ Ensure uninterrupted material and ingredient flow to minimize downtime

+ Enforce FIFO practices and strong inventory controls

+ Supervise and assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment

+ Review and resolve material discrepancies including damages, shortages, and overages

+ Oversee proper use, maintenance, and inspection of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, battery chargers, balers, etc.)

+ Coordinate with subcontractors for equipment maintenance and ensure documentation is complete

+ Ensure inspections of trailers, secured vehicles, and shipping containers are completed and documented

+ Partner with Quality to prevent contamination or infestation and maintain regulatory compliance

+ Ensure compliance with GMPs, OSHA, USDA, OU, SQF, and other applicable regulations

+ Complete and verify all shipping and receiving documentation accurately and on time

+ Tag and label raw ingredients and materials appropriately

+ Assist with physical inventories and reinforce best inventory practices

+ Maintain loading docks, trailers, storage racks, and offsite storage areas

+ Ensure timely waste and recycling removal

+ Conduct department orientation and ongoing training on procedures and equipment

+ Assist with developing, maintaining, and updating SOPs

Backup & Cross-Functional Support

+ Serve as backup to the Quality department for inventory on-hold status

+ Serve as primary backup for the Customer Relations Specialist, including:

+ Managing changes to sales orders

+ Obtaining freight quotes and entering billing information

+ Preparing bills of lading and Prime Vendor documentation

+ Supporting uninterrupted Prime Vendor flow and customer order fulfillment

+ Responding promptly to customer inquiries

Qualifications & Skills

+ Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

+ Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across a diverse workforce

+ Ability to establish objectives, strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives

+ Experience driving safety awareness and regulatory compliance

+ Strong root-cause analysis and corrective action skills

+ Reading, math, and computer proficiency for reporting and inventory accuracy

Physical Requirements

+ Ability to stand for an entire shift

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds

+ Ability to squat, bend, twist, and perform visual inspections
