Position Overview

MercyOne Waterloo is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neonatologist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialized care for newborns in a supportive, family-centered environment, including **couplet care** when appropriate to promote bonding and continuity of care.

Practice Highlights

+ Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Level III

+ NICU Bed Count: 8 beds 10 beds

+ Average Daily Census: 4–6 5-6

+ Call Schedule: Shared call with pediatric team; typically, 1:3 Shared call with neonatologist. They are currently doing 1:2

+ NICU Team: Experienced neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and case managers dedicated to family-centered care

+ Collaborative team including pediatricians, obstetricians, and nursing staff

+ Opportunity to participate in quality improvement initiatives and education

Responsibilities

+ Provide comprehensive care for premature and critically ill newborns

+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes

+ Educate families and support staff on neonatal care

+ Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Compensation & Benefits

+ **Guaranteed Salary:** $346,920

+ **Commencement Bonus:** $70,000

+ **Longevity Bonus:** $30,000 after Year 3

+ **Moving Allowance:** $15,000

+ Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement

+ CME allowance and paid time off
