Description:
Position Purpose:
The Telemetry Technician provides ongoing observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms; prepares and maintains telemetry records and maintains a functioning telemetry system.
What you will do:
+ Observes and interprets cardiac rhythms.
+ Records ECG strips at designated intervals and as changes occur.
+ Prints cardiac rhythm strips as needed.
+ Notifies RN of all changes in rhythm and heart rate.
+ Maintains telemetry records.
+ Ensures proper functioning of telemetry system. Trouble shoots equipment problems.
+ Updates Communication Board.
+ Communicates with internal/external customers/colleagues in a courteous, positive, empathic, and professional manner. Displays excellent telephone etiquette. Speaks to everyone. Always communicates with care. Speaks calmly, clearly, and courteously. Stops and listens when a customer/colleague speaks. Communicates consistently with colleagues in a professional and respectful manner and accepts assignments willingly.

Education:
+ High school education or equivalent
Experience:
+ Demonstrated competence working with patients is preferred.

+ Demonstrates continuous application of proper body mechanics.
