    Your role and responsibilities

    Vault is HashiCorp’s multi-cloud security platform. Its open source community has tens of thousands of active, engaged users. Vault's strength lies in its ability to manage secrets and secure access, with PKI being a key component for issuing, signing, and revoking X.509 certificates. This role is dedicated to expanding and maturing Vault's cryptographic and PKI capabilities, including advanced features like certificate management, key rotation, crypto agility, and support for emerging cryptographic standards, especially those related to Post Quantum Cryptography. This role sits at the convergence of deep technical security, product strategy, and engagement with security practitioners. You will work with Vault users, security teams, and cloud partners to understand their needs and advance Vault's Crypto and PKI product line.

    Responsibilities:

    *

     

    Craft the product story by understanding the security landscape, user needs in certificate and key management, crypto agility requirements, and HashiCorp principles.

     

    *

     

    Write detailed product strategy documents focused on cryptographic features, PKI, and the roadmap for PQC transition and support to set the context for the product roadmap.

     

    *

     

    Prioritize the product roadmap by taking feedback from security practitioners, engineering, marketing, and the HashiCorp vision regarding Vault's crypto/PKI capabilities.

     

    *

     

    Conduct user research and write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to distill the research into requirements for engineering to deliver.

     

    *

     

    Communicate product status to all partners. Keep sales and marketing updated on feature releases and keep engineering informed on feature requests.

     

    *

     

    Help with sales and marketing collateral to educate on the product story and features (Website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, FAQs, etc).

     

    Required technical and professional expertise

     

    *

     

    3+ years of product management experience with developer or security products.

     

    *

     

    1+ years of experience with cryptographic technologies, PKI, certificate management, and key management systems (KMS) or hardware security modules (HSM).

     

    *

     

    Strong user and market research skills, particularly within the cloud and enterprise security space.

     

    *

     

    Ability to organize multiple stakeholders towards a common goal.

     

    *

     

    Analytical with the ability to prioritize and make tradeoffs.

     

    Preferred technical and professional experience

     

    *

     

    Strong technical understanding of cryptographic primitives, algorithms, key derivation functions, and zero-trust security models.

     

    *

     

    Direct knowledge of or experience planning for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) standards and migration strategies is highly desirable.
