Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled **Quality Assurance Lead** with hands-on experience in food manufacturing and a strong background in supervising quality operations. This role oversees QA activities on the afternoon shift, ensuring all products meet safety, regulatory, and customer standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, confident in decision-making, and experienced in guiding QA staff in a fast-paced production environment.
**Location:** Pomona, CA
**Schedule:** 2nd Shift Monday–Friday, 1pm–9pm
**Compensation:** $21–$25/hr
**Type:** Contract-to-Hire
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead and support QA technicians during the shift, ensuring all quality checks and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
+ Serve as the point of contact for quality issues on the production floor, escalating concerns to QA management when necessary.
+ Conduct inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, ensuring strict adherence to specifications.
+ Oversee pre-operational checks, including environmental swabbing and sanitation verification.
+ Manage allergen control activities daily during pre-op and production.
+ Perform routine GMP walkthroughs in production and warehouse areas, driving continuous improvement.
+ Ensure compliance with site food safety programs and federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Support training of new QA team members on procedures, documentation, and best practices.
+ Partner closely with production leads to resolve quality deviations quickly and effectively.
Minimum Requirements
+ 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance.
+ Previous experience in a lead, senior tech, or shift point-person role strongly preferred.
+ In-depth knowledge of food safety programs: HACCP, GMP, allergen control, environmental monitoring, and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, AIB).
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently address quality issues on the floor.
+ Highly reliable with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to coach team members and maintain professionalism during fast-paced operations.
