Job Description:
General Responsibilities:
This position will conduct field and analysis of soils, water, vegetation, and other environmental media to support ecological, wetland, and habitat assessments.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Conducts field sampling, data collection, and site assessments in support of wetland delineations and protected species habitat evaluations.
Assists environmental scientists and biologists with routine field tasks, including vegetation surveys, soil observations, and hydrologic indicators.
Collects, organizes, and maintains photo logs and field documentation in accordance with project requirements.
Transports equipment, field materials, and documentation to project sites, laboratories, and offices; assists with equipment setup and breakdown.
Cleans and maintains field equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
Supports other technicians and professional staff during field and office-based tasks as needed.
Participates in progressive training and assumes increasing responsibility in field methodologies, data collection, and documentation.
Requirements:
High school diploma and BS degree in progress in a science or related field (environmental, safety, engineering, chemistry, biology, geology). The ideal candidate will have less than one year remaining to complete their BS degree.
