**Pay Range:** $41.44 - $67.44 per hour

Summary:
The RUSH Facilities Management department works with administrators, physicians, nurses, architects, interior designers, engineers, and general contractors on facility-based projects such as: master planning, selecting properties for future expansion, designing new and remodeled spaces, negotiating/managing leases, coordinating moves, assisting with furniture and equipment acquisition.
This position, under the direction of the Director of Facilities Management or their designee, independently leads BIM initiatives and strategic planning for the Planning, Design & Construction department, coordinating complex projects across clinical, operational, and technical teams. It will provide leadership to the RUSH Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) and Building Information Management (BIM) team in the development of goals; planning, implementation and management of Building Design Models (BIM), facility plans, and associated databases used in the Planning Design & Construction Department. The position will be accountable for accuracy, integrity and organization of the facilities documents and data for all RUSH owned and leased buildings. In addition, the candidate will be required to understand and assess life safety codes of these buildings for compliance with CMS, Joint Commission and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).

Required Job Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of BIM experience.
• Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, strong organizational, and communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of construction administration, facility planning, and project documentation.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Education: Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• Experience: 10 years’ experience in healthcare BIM
• Skills: Knowledge of FM or similar facilities management software, and proficiency with data analytics tools.
• Certifications: Registered Engineer or Registered Architect, Autodesk Certified Professional.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee BIM initiatives independently, applying judgment to prioritize tasks and deliverables across multiple teams and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of BIM models and AutoCAD files for use by internal departments and external construction service providers. Examples include Life Safety, Space Management, MEP+FP.
• Lead BIM integration on complex projects, including major facility renovations and new builds, ensuring coordination across design, engineering, and construction teams.
• Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of various comprehensive building information databases in relationship to the BIM models, regarding facility information. Examples include department, room use, sprinkler zone, emergency generator, etc.
• Required to understand and interpret the International Building Code (IBC) and NFPA 101 in relationship to life safety to ensure that the drawings are compliant.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external consultants to create standards for the automation, conversion and standardization of all CAD/Revit drawing files.
• Involved in coordinating the facilities area data and reconciling with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Coordinate and distribute information regarding space allocation to multiple departments and committees, along with consultant for the use of planning and construction.
• Work to establish, update and maintain BIM standards and workflow to assure best practices and efficiency for the BIM Group’s internal workflow.
• Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards and protocols to ensure compliance with healthcare-specific regulations, supporting patient safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory readiness.
• Collaborate with Finance to conduct yearly audits and validate the accuracy of the current drawings and associated spreadsheets. Utilize BIM data for analytics and reporting to provide insights into space utilization, facility optimization, and asset management, informing strategic decision-making and supporting efficient resource allocation.
• Conduct field audits to validate the accuracy of the current BIM drawings and associated life safety and space allocation information.
• Collaborate with PDC and Facilities staff with regards to active or on-going projects.
• Coordinate with clinical and IT departments to ensure BIM data supports operational workflows, patient safety, and healthcare-specific infrastructure requirements, facilitating cross-departmental alignment.
• Candidate must research and stay informed on best practices for the use of Revit Architecture and BIM.
• Must be a self-starter and possess the drive to pursue continued education on BIM and its role in facilities planning and operation.
• Responsible for internal training and training for new hires & intermediate level staff of the BIM and PDC departments.
• Lead and mentor junior BIM team members, providing training on BIM standards, tools, and workflows, fostering growth and skill development within the team.
• Work with PDC staff to track projects in construction so that all appropriate departmental tasks (plan updates, archival research, collection of record drawings) are completed in an efficient and effective manner.
• Oversee BIM integration on complex construction projects, including renovations and new builds, managing project deliverables with external contractors and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Work with PDC staff to create budgets for future technology adoption that aligns with RUSH BIM goals. Lead digital transformation initiatives within the PDC department by implementing cutting-edge BIM technologies and methodologies, staying informed on innovations in healthcare facilities design and digital modeling.
• Attend conferences, seminars and workshops for BIM, and bring back the knowledge disseminated to the BIM group and department leaders.
• Represent RUSH’s BIM program at industry events, conferences, and user groups, staying informed on best practices and emerging technologies
• Active involvement in the larger “BIM World” groups and organizations: o Examples: Autodesk University, AUGI (Autodesk User Group International), BIM Storm, AIA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP), Local User Groups – Including state and universities.
• Exhibits ability to lead small to medium size design and construction projects within RUSH. Including code analysis, design, and construction administration. Responsible for updating Revit building models regarding new construction or renovation.
