    Responsibilities

    Dr. Christian Lachner is seeking a Research Fellow to join the Mayo Alzheimer Disease Research Center (ADRC) in Florida. The ADRC post-doctoral fellow will support the operation of ADRC-related studies, especially focused on longitudinal aging studies in cognitively normal or minimally impaired individuals from high ADRD risk populations [i.e., Hispanic & Latino (1.5X) and Black & African American(2X)] from the Jacksonville, FL metro area.

     

    In this role, qualified individuals will work under the direct supervision/mentorship of Drs. Lachner, Day, and Graff-Radford to support participant assessments, collection of longitudinal data (including data entry and cleaning), data analyses, and manuscript drafting and presentation of ADRC-related study findings. The ADRC fellow will work closely with other ADRC team members on the Mayo Clinic Florida campus.

     

    The ideal ADRC fellow will have completed post-graduate (residency) training in Adult Neurology, Medicine, Geriatrics or Geriatric Psychiatry and will have interest in the assessment and advancement of clinical research into age-related neurodegenerative diseases focused on ADRD high risk populations.

    Essential skills / qualifications:

    - Clinical qualifications (MD or equivalent); medial license not required

     

    - Skills in data analyses / database management (programming is a strength).

     

    - Strong interpersonal skills

     

    - Strong written communication skills (supported by first author publications in English

     

    language journals or equivalent accomplishments). Proficiency in English and spoken Spanish preferred.

    Qualifications

    doctoral program requirements and are eligible to graduate.

     

    Please also be prepared that you may be asked to provide three letters of recommendation to the hiring PI prior to an interview.

     

    A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Fellow may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
