JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for delivering on and driving the strategy, approach, execution and oversight for the Digital + Technology Transformation (D+TT) deployment and readiness efforts for edge case, new opening and transition hotels. D+TT is a multi-year effort to transform Marriott’s technology and business process ecosystem, evolving it to deliver on our vision to become the world’s favorite travel company. The Business Transformation Office has been established to enable and accelerate D+TT through unique approaches to strategic planning, program management, change management, experience and business process design, continent coordination and deployment. This role will contribute to building upon our existing expertise and creating the structures and capabilities we need to coordinate the moving parts that make up D+TT.
This role will play an integral role in providing support to the Continent team within the BTO and in-continent to partner on the implementation of D+TT for the edge case hotels, and further partner with change and learning to establish solutions that meet the continent needs. Finally, this role will partner closely with Continent and Global technology deployment team, and with external consulting leaders engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include: Support the CALA Deployment Lead and Team as well as the BTO HQ Sr. Director Edge Cases, New Openings/Transitions to deliver on the edge case strategy and approach, leading these efforts in Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) partnering closely with the strategy and implementation lead, CMDL leads, and Continent and Global Technology deployment lead to ensure one integrated plan. Partner with the Continent deployment measurement lead to inventory, catalogue and track edge cases on behalf of the Continent for D+TT. Partner within the BTO Deployment team to develop and support the readiness and implementation approach for CALA, including deployment tasks for readiness and cutover, considering edge case hotels and new openings, leading / partnering with cross-discipline solutioning teams. Partner with CMDL leads to identify specific needs for edge case hotels and new openings/transitions to be incorporated into the change management, communications, continent engagement and learning plans respectively. Partner with the BTO HQ Director Edge Cases, New Openings/Transitions on the new openings organizations within each continent to execute the D+TT approach to new opening and transition hotels impacted by the D+TT deployment plan. Gain alignment and support the execution of approach. Partner with the New Openings/Transitions teams to deliver the new BAU approach for new openings/transitions as impacted by MGP. Partner with the measurement lead to manage the edge case hotels and new openings/transitions through the hotel master inventory tool and respective content to establish a tracking plan for these hotels as they go through the deployment phases. Partner with the CALA BTO and Continent teams to deliver on the edge case strategy and approach through planning, solutioning and execution through sustainment.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Work with the Continent Deployment team and BTO HQ Sr. Director to support the deployment approach and its unique application to edge case communities and hotels. Primary areas include: Deliver on Edge Case Strategy + Approach: Leverage edge case strategy and support timely execution of key deliverables Consider HQ level and continent level stakeholders to determine necessary tracking and reporting levels required Support development of edge case plan for each category of edge case across each phase of deployment, to include Prepare, Readiness, Launch and Stabilize Implement plan, in partnership with full HQ and Continent deployment team, for edge cases throughout the full deployment lifecycle Edge Case Cataloguing + Tracking: Partner with deployment team leads in measurement and readiness to inventory edge cases for impacted region Once edge cases have been identified, catalogue edge cases respectively and identify existing solution teams; identify new solution teams required ensuring a cross-track approach Conduct ongoing engagement with continent feedback on edge cases globally by community and category New Openings + Transitions Partner with the new opening's teams/leads in continent to determine current state processes to update approach for D+TT – identify path for alignment on approach and finalize Support implementation of plan and partner with new openings teams to set up BAU execution Readiness + Implementation Support and contribute to the content, management and tracking of hotel readiness task list; considering Edge Cases and New Openings/Transitions Partner cross-workstreams within the HQ and Continent BTO and D+TT to understand nuances and tasks related to Edge Cases and New Openings Support and partner with the Continent Deployment team on resource planning, engagement, and execution through all phases of implementation
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in hotel operations and/or program management required; 8+ years expertise in program management and/or implementation experience 2+ years of solid program/project management experience supporting hotel reservations, sales, revenue management and/or room operations disciplines. Property and operations experience essential Expertise and proven track record in managing complex, multifunctional initiatives Experience in providing direction and performing responsibilities via influence ability Proven success in introducing major change to complex organizations Exceptional project/program management competence and skills Ability to distribute, assign and ensure completion of work throughout various teams with and without direct management authority Ability to persuade and influence others, including those at senior organizational levels Ability to develop and enforce program governance Monitor results on an ongoing basis against pre-determined metrics Communicate results, issues and accomplishments clearly and effectively to Program Leaders Confirm that all efforts have the required transparency and sponsorship to proceed Strong analytical skills for planning, estimating, budgeting and monitoring program/project work Ability to enlist and motivate individuals and secure resources without direct authority Ability to form and foster high performing teams Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to adjust according to audience including executive level Experience using MS Office Suite Fluent Spanish speaker preferred
