    Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional Facility

     

    Facility: Anamosa State Penitentiary

     

    Contract Length: 13 Weeks

     

    Start Date: ASAP

     

    Shift: Evenings, 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM, Monday–Friday, every other weekend

     

    Hours: 40 hrs/week

     

    + Bill Rate: $58/hr.

    + OT Rate: $87

     

    About the Role

     

    We are seeking an experienced Correctional RN to provide routine and emergency healthcare to an incarcerated population. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and collaboration with healthcare professionals and correctional staff to ensure patient safety and well-being in a secure environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Deliver nursing care using the nursing process in a correctional setting.

    + Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for routine and urgent needs.

    + Administer medications and treatments as ordered.

    + Respond to medical emergencies and provide crisis intervention.

    + Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility protocols.

    + Communicate effectively with healthcare team and correctional staff.

    Requirements

    + Current RN license (state of practice).

    + Minimum 1 year correctional healthcare experience preferred.

    + Current CPR certification.

    + Health certificate, PPD or chest X-ray (if applicable).

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

    + Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
