Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – $52/hr – Arlington Heights, IL – Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to provide quality services to students in a middle school classroom. This role involves planning and implementing individualized programs, collaborating with general education staff, and supporting students with diverse communication, sensory, and behavioral needs.

Assignment Details:

+ Location: Arlington Heights, IL

+ Start Date: ASAP

+ End Date: 5 months (End of School Year 2026)

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday

+ Hours: 32.5 hrs/week

+ Duration: 5 months

+ Pay Rate: $52/hr

+ Grade Level: Middle School (6th–7th grade)

+ Caseload: 6 male students, all on Autism spectrum; 4 have 1:1 support; all have Behavior Intervention Plans

Responsibilities:

+ Provide specialized instruction and support for students with Autism and behavioral needs

+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and general education staff

+ Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and individualized education programs

+ Support students receiving Speech, OT, and Social Work services

Requirements:

+ Valid Illinois teaching certificate with LBS1 endorsement

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Prior experience in special education classroom preferred

+ Current CPR (if applicable)

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest X-ray (if applicable)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
