    Our client is seeking a Lab/Test Engineer 2 to join their team.

     

    **Job Title:** Lab/Test Engineer 2

     

    Pay Range:** **$34.00/hr. - $37.00/hr.

     

    What’s the Job?

    Summary:

    The main function of a Lab/Test Engineer at this level is to apply configuration skills at a basic to intermediate level. The Test Engineer will design and develop test plans and should be familiar with at least one programming language,

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Perform repeatable testing procedures and processes.

    + Verify triggers, stored procedures, referential integrity, hardware product or system specifications.

    + Interpret and modify code as required that may include C/C++, C# batch files, make files, Perl scripts, queries, stored procedures and/or triggers.

    + Write automation test scripts for simulating user interactions such as data entry, menu selections, mouse actions, data I/O, etc.

    + Run BVTs, troubleshoot, report and escalate as necessary.

    + Be familiar with .NET and SML framework; Be familiar with COM.

    + Develop programs in at least one language (such as C/C++, VB, SQL, etc.).

    + Read logical and physical data model diagrams.

    Skills:

    + Database programming experience, i.e. SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, Informix and/or DB2 may be required.

    + Visual Basic, MFC, OLE, Internet tools, NT, compiler preprocessor preferred.

    + Software testing experience in a Web-based or Windows client/server environment required.

    + Experience in development and/or database administration experience using a Microsoft product required.

    + Ability to read and write at least one programming language such as C#, C/C++, SQL, etc.

    + Knowledge of software quality assurance practices, with strong testing aptitude.

    + Knowledge of personal computer hardware may be required.

    Required:

    + Prior experience working directly with hardware.

    + Experience supporting or maintaining lab environments.

    + Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines or Microsoft workflows.

    + PowerShell or Python scripting capability.

    + Familiarity with OS imaging (Windows OS images).

    Education/Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in computer science required and some business/functional knowledge and/or industry experience preferred.

    + 2-4 years’ experience.

    Typical Day in the Role:

    + Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to stand up and maintain two hardware labs, ensuring devices are properly set up, debugged, updated, and functioning to support ongoing testing and automation work.

    + Key projects: This role will contribute to supporting a tendered project involving Surface devices, maintaining lab infrastructure, enabling test automation workflows, and performing test execution on new software builds.
