About the Opportunity:
Join our team at Xylem as a Project Engineer Intern and gain hands-on experience designing, testing, and optimizing large-scale manufacturing processes. This internship offers a unique blend of research, data analysis, and on-site engineering work, giving you exposure to how innovative chemical products are developed safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams while contributing to projects that directly improve production performance, quality, and environmental responsibility.
What You’ll Do:
Research & Development
+ Assist with experiments, data analysis, and process testing
+ Support the development of new products and enhancement of existing ones
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Process Design & Optimization
+ Help design and plan production processes
+ Analyze and optimize processes for efficiency, cost, and performance
+ Troubleshoot production challenges and propose solutions
Safety, Quality & Sustainability
+ Support compliance with safety and environmental regulations
+ Assist in implementing safety procedures and monitoring risks
+ Participate in quality control testing and assurance activities
Project & Technical Support
+ Assist in planning and coordinating engineering projects
+ Track timelines, document progress, and support reporting
+ Provide technical support and help train team members on new processes
Documentation & Reporting
+ Maintain accurate engineering documentation
+ Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders
What We’re Looking For:
+ Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering
+ Rising junior standing or higher
+ GPA of 3.0 or above
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
+ Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork abilities
