### Job Duties
The Director of Communications and Marketing leads the development and execution of Wilder’s communications and marketing strategy. The Director is responsible for monitoring and strengthening the organization’s brand; increasing visibility and engagement with organizational partners and investors; directing the creation of engaging content across a broad range of channels; and managing and enhancing Wilder’s reputation as a social service thought leader, service provider, and data resource.
Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, the Director of Communications and Marketing is the senior communications staff member for the organization, leading and directing the work to build awareness and recognition of Wilder’s brand in local and national spaces. The Director is responsible for internal and external communications, and operates in this complex, multi-service organization with public visibility and regulatory sensitivity across myriad business lines. Within this context, the Director is responsible for providing consultative guidance and expert advice to division leaders as well as to lead and direct the work of communication strategy, brand, media relations, marketing, web content, news and events.
### Minimum Education Required
Position requires a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field, master's degree preferred, and at least 10 years’ experience in a wide range of communications disciplines to include public relations, strategy development and oversight, and consultation to leaders across diverse business lines. Highly useful and preferred areas of experience include leadership in communications in multi-service nonprofit organizations, leading visibility and marketing efforts to elevate numerous distinct business lines, and fund development. Position requires outstanding collaborative leadership skills, top-notch interpersonal communications and writing skills, and a passion for elevating and supporting the mission of Wilder.
