Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for** **_all_** **.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

    Our Opportunity Summary:

For more than 43 years, Micron Technology, Inc. has redefined innovation with the world’s most advanced memory and semiconductor technologies. We’re an international team of visionaries and scientists, developing groundbreaking technologies that are transforming how the world uses information to enrich life.

Micron is seeking an exceptional Electrical Operations Engineer to serve as a critical bridge between construction and operations—two essential functions that drive our manufacturing excellence. This unique career opportunity offers a structured pathway to becoming a complete electrical systems expert.

Your journey begins with a comprehensive two-year assignment embedded within the Construction Engineering Team. During this foundational phase, you’ll gain invaluable exposure to large-scale industrial projects by actively participating in design reviews, collaborating with world-class engineering firms, and overseeing construction activities from concept through commissioning. You’ll develop a deep understanding of how electrical infrastructure is designed, installed, and validated—knowledge that will prove indispensable throughout your career.

Following this immersive construction experience, you’ll transition to the Operations Engineering Group, where you’ll assume full ownership of mission-critical electrical systems. Your responsibilities will encompass power distribution networks, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), emergency generators, and backup power systems that keep our advanced manufacturing facilities running 24/7. This hands-on operational role puts you at the heart of maintaining the electrical backbone that powers cutting-edge semiconductor production.

This position is perfectly suited for ambitious engineers who excel in both collaborative design environments and dynamic operational settings—professionals who want to understand systems from blueprint to real-world performance, and who are energized by the prospect of making tangible impacts on facility reliability and uptime.

**(Disclaimer)** While you may not exhibit all of the characteristics/skills listed below today, we are highly interested in a team member who is anxious to grow in both technical breadth and depth. If you are open to learning from and being a valued member of a team of seasoned engineers, we are eager to help build on your existing foundation and expand your individual and collaborative skills in this exciting and unique opportunity.

Our team vision is a continuing desire to develop your skills working in an inclusive, diverse environment of multicultural Teams across worldwide geographies! Enabling the creative career path you deserve with a collaborative environment and groundbreaking technology while rapidly growing your abilities.

    What’s Encouraged Daily:

+ Partner with Design Engineers during early project phases to influence electrical system architecture for long-term reliability, maintainability, and safety.

+ Temporarily support the Construction Engineering Team by reviewing design documents, participating in technical workgroup calls, and ensuring constructability and compliance with standards.

+ Evaluate electrical drawings, perform load calculations, fault current analysis, arc flash studies, and ensure alignment with NEC, IEEE, and client specifications.

+ Respond to RFIs, review submittals (e.g., switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs), and support field engineering and inspections to ensure timely and code-compliant system delivery.

+ Verify system functionality during commissioning and facilitate a smooth handoff to operations, ensuring systems meet performance expectations.

+ Post-construction, take full ownership of electrical systems including power distribution, motor controls, emergency power, and lighting; manage performance and reliability.

+ Lead fault investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions; use diagnostic tools and data to drive system improvements.

+ Ensure adherence to safety and engineering standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584); maintain accurate documentation using BIM tools; train maintenance and operations teams.

    How To Qualify:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

+ 3–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, including design collaboration, construction support, and operational troubleshooting.

+ Proficient in power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, and backup/emergency power systems.

+ Familiar with electrical codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA.

+ Skilled in electrical analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools) and BIM platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).

    What Sets You Apart:

+ Experience supporting electrical systems in high-reliability environments such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or data center facilities.

+ Familiarity with electrical system cybersecurity standards (e.g., IEC 62443) and emerging technologies including IoT, smart grid, and Industry 4.0 applications.

+ Experience mentoring operations staff, promoting technical excellence, safety, and continuous learning in electrical system operations.
