    Overview

     

    Participates as a member of the OR team, preparing for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, assisting in surgery and maintaining surgical suites.

    Responsibilities

    * Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures.

    * Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste.

    * Uses surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures.

    * Handles surgical specimens.

    * Files and copies path and procedure chart reports.

    * Performs other duties as required or assigned.

    Qualifications

    * High School Diploma or GED required.

    * Graduate of a Surgical Technology School or program recognized by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.

    * 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist

    * Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred.

    * Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians

     

    Required Licensure/Certifications

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

    • (BLS) Basic Life Support

    * Area of Interest:Allied Health

    * Pay Range:$28.00/Hr. - $39.20/Hr.

    * FTE/Hours per pay period:0.50 - 20 hrs/per week
