    Position Summary

    Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) seeks a housekeeper that follows procedures when handling biohazardous waste, ensuring that Infection Control policies are followed.

     

    The person in this position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in all patient areas and corridors and for emptying all the trash receptacles in the units.

     

    This position could be asked to move heavy equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, as assigned.

     

    SVMC environmental services professionals work as a team using a seven-step cleaning process and cross train into all housekeeper roles. We use equipment properly to keep patient areas, offices, and corridors safe. Through training, housekeepers learn to use the required computer resources and proper lifting/working procedures.
