Overview
Come work in a fast paced team environment in our Endscopy suite where the Endsocopy Technician is a valued team player peforming a crititcal role in our procedure rooms. We can train the right candidate if you dont have all the expereince needed! the position is 4 -10 hr days, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
* Assists physicians with diagnostic procedures and therapeutic intervention of ERCPs, including stone extractions, stent placements, pancreatic visualization, radio frequency ablation set-up, pseudo cyst drainage, biopsies, and dilatation.
* Assists with therapeutic bronchoscopies, which include fine needle aspiration, stent placement, biopsies, and dilatation.
* Assists physicians with various procedures, including colonoscopies, upper gastrointestinal endoscopies (EGDs), and endoscopic ultra sound, assisting with specimen collection, dilations, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, etc.
* Prepares procedure room for case, maintaining clean examination areas by setting up rooms, cleaning equipment after each case.
* Responsible for patient safety during electrocautery procedures, ensuring proper patient grounding and proper function of electrocautery equipment.
* Initiates cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
* Troubleshoots equipment malfunction, and reports all negative findings to appropriate person.
* Handles the maintenance of all endoscopes. Checks all scopes which will be used for color and clarity, that air and water channels are open, that the control knobs are not too tight or loose, and also completes visual inspection of insertion tube for buckling or bite marks.
* Maintains inventory par levels, restocking endoscopy related supplies in procedure rooms and monitoring expiration dates.
* Reprocesses scopes and reusable equipment.
* Relocates and sets up c-arm, and enters names in the fluoroscopy computer.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
* High school graduate with 2 years of Endoscopy Technician experience, or the equivalent combination of direct and relevant experience.
* Must successfully complete the SGNA Advanced Associates Program.
* Must possess the ability to anticipate, prioritize, and coordinate work.
* Must function independently, as well as a member of a team in a high stress environment.
* Excellent verbal communication skills required.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- BLS within 30 days
- NH Medical Technician OR Tmp Medical Technician
- SGNA advanced associate program
- 2 years of Endo Tech experience
* Area of Interest:Allied Health
* Pay Range:$21.19/Hr. - $32.85/Hr.
* FTE/Hours per pay period:1.00 - 1.00 - 40 hrs/week
