    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    The administrator must have a strong ability to build a faculty and staff committed to preparing a diverse workforce, and to extending educational opportunities to students from all backgrounds; the interest and ability to work collaboratively with different communities of interest to strengthen and develop partnerships and to engage with healthcare systems and clinical partners within the region; experience in recruiting, supporting, and retaining faculty; ability to collaborate across disciplines/units and support for interprofessional education; ability to promote nursing research, education and service; experience in program evaluation and accreditation as well as expansion of programming; evidence of building external partnerships and a willingness to engage in development initiatives. This is a full-time administrative position.

    Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

    The candidate must be eligible for RN licensure in NC, hold a graduate degree in nursing and a PhD in nursing or a a field closely related to nursing, and be eligible for appointment as a tenured professor. Preference will be given to having a PhD in Nursing. The candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in curricular evaluation and accreditation; significant experience in nursing leadership, education, and practice; an outstanding record of scholarship; and a demonstrated commitment to building a strong community across academic silos. Prior skills and experience should include managing financial resources, personnel, contracts, agreements, and cohort expansion as well as faculty development and retention, curriculum development, course schedule planning, and budget development . The candidate should articulate a vision and strategic direction for the academic programs within the school in preparing future nurses to confront the health care demands of a complex and technologically advanced profession, addressing the state, national and global health care needs, while increasing the nursing workforce.
