SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager Sales Training and Development is primarily responsible for managing the product training associated with one or more products in Lundbeck's Neurology portfolio. This position will be responsible for creating and delivering sales training curriculum to the field sales organization and other teams as needed. This position is expected to collaborate internally with marketing, sales, sales training, and commercial operations team members to develop a coordinated sales training strategy and approach for supported brands. This position will be involved with budget management, vendor management, providing mentorship to field training support, and creating and executing the organization's training and development plan. Finally, this position ensures that all promotional activities are in accordance with operational guidelines and aligns initiatives with Lundbeck's Beliefs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manages, designs, and delivers sales training curriculum to the field sales organization focused on increasing disease state, product knowledge and/or selling skills
  • Regularly assesses the sales force and sales management training needs by observing individual Biopharmaceutical Account Manager performance/behaviors and collaborating with the appropriate functional areas
  • Participates and leads in strategic projects designed to fulfill the needs of the field sales force. These projects include continuous collaboration with all relevant support departments: marketing, medical affairs, regulatory, IT, sales operations, commercial analytics, etc., and include but are not limited to new product launches, new marketing directives, new indication launches, new positioning directives, etc.
  • Leads and mentors field based trainers
  • Analyzes training effectiveness to determine when revisions, enhancements, or new programs should occur. Provides recommendations to Training Leadership and executes approved programs
  • Analyzes department reports, sales trainee evaluations and any other reports that trainers are required to complete and formulates recommendations for improvements
  • Develops and implements evaluations to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training and provides metrics for management review
  • Acts as a point of contact for sales and marketing teams regarding 1) day-to-day operations of training, and 2) the development of new training initiatives, or supporting changes in direction of existing training initiatives
  • Ensures that all training materials are updated prior to expiration and are built and delivered within compliance guidelines
  • Supports new hire orientation through delivery of training and development content
  • Collaborates with sales leadership to coordinate and oversee field training efforts
  • Collaborates with marketing teams to participate on various advisory committees
  • Oversees Veeva Vault Submissions for internal review process with Medical and Legal teams
  • Manages relationships with external Vendors on training projects
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
  • Accredited Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree
  • 6+ years in the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry
  • 2+ years of sales people management experience ORtraining experience
  • Ability to develop and facilitate training classes and workshops
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in individual and team settings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent planning, organization, and project management skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Master's/MBA
  • Instructional design experience related to building out sales training workshops
  • People management experience in training or sales positions
  • Understanding of the Promotional Advertising Review Committee (PARC) and Sales Training Review Committee (STRC) process
  • Experience with Veeva Vault and submissions for Medical/Legal review
  • Experience managing external vendors
  • Product marketing, sales management, or other home office function experience
  • Biopharmaceutical experience in specialty, specifically in biologics
TRAVEL
  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 25% domestically.If based remotely, additional travel will be required to Deerfield, IL (overall travel up to 50% domestically). International travel may be required.
The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000 and eligibility for a 15% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company's long-term incentive plan.
