Snapshot of Your Day
The Turbomachining Mechanic will disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild steam turbines,
compressors, and other related equipment. Work alongside a team of mechanics,
machinists, weld technicians, inspectors, engineers and project managers to
repair critical turbomachinery equipment. Customers include oil refineries,
petrochemical plants, power plants, universities, hospitals, and mechanical
contractors. Work daily under direct guidance from experienced shop leadsman
and supervisor. Join our team!
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Primaryresponsibility includes disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair andassembly of steam turbines, steam trip and throttle valves, centrifugaland reciprocating compressors.
+ Use hand-heldtablet devices to record visual inspection findings, dimensional data andmeasurements, and photograph damage.
+ Make repairrecommendations based on inspection findings.
+ Review bills ofmaterials and manufacturing drawings to compile list of replacement parts.
+ Review repairprocess and implement repairs.
+ Safety is veryimportant to our team – it is everyone’s duty to work safely, report anyunsafe conditions or suggestions for improvement to shop leadership
What You Bring
+ High SchoolDiploma or GED is required.
+ A minimum of 3years’ experience in industrial mechanical repairs required.
+ Background inrepair of steam turbines and centrifugal compressors is preferred.
+ Demonstratedability to effectively perform assigned tasks with limited supervision.
+ A team playerattitude, working well with others.
+ Proven abilityto interpret shop instructions and manufacturing drawings.
+ Proven abilityto read scales, micrometers and dial indicators.
+ Humbledisposition- able to take constructive criticism and suggestions forimprovement.
+ Strong workethic, pursuing excellence and a high-quality standard.
+ Applicants mustbe legally authorized for employment in the United States without need forcurrent or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energyemployees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internaltransfers.
About the Team:
The Philadelphia Service Center is comprised of a strong
team of 23 individuals, including mechanics, machinists, weld technicians, NDT
inspectors, repair engineers, and project managers. The shop was originally
established in the early 1970’s as a Worthington repair center, servicing local
northeast clients. Acquired by Dresser-Rand, Siemens, and now Siemens Energy,
it has since grown, and its capabilities expanded to support all major
refineries on the east coast and the mid-west. The Philly shop is the third
largest Siemens Energy repair center in the US.
