Position Overview:
The Writer/Editor (Communications Coordinator) duties include producing written content, editing the work of others, scheduling emails, and managing projects, among other tasks. This person should have a superior understanding of grammar and punctuation. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented and skilled at managing projects and the content calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Support communications efforts through the production of written news and feature stories, website copy, executive communications, and Club email updates.
+ Assist the marketing and communications team in developing and implementing a strategy designed to further Club objectives.
+ Collaborate with other departments and key stakeholders in the development of the content calendar, overlaying the Club's objectives and priorities while streamlining the content pipeline across multiple channels.
+ Manage the workflow, content calendar, and deliverables for a three-person communications team.
+ + Assist with website support and online reservation system.
+ Stay up to date on industry trends and make recommendations for adjustments to communications strategies and practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field.
+ Experience writing professionally with a collection of published materials.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
+ Excellent written, proofing, verbal, and presentation skills.
+ Comfort interviewing sources and relaying information accurately.
+ Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task.
+ Ability to track and readily share metrics related to all areas of responsibility.
+ Extreme attention to detail.
+ Self-directed and proactive.
+ Able to produce high-quality work with reasonable but sometimes short deadlines.
+ Readily participates in the feedback and editing process, takes responsibility, and maintains a positive, supportive attitude with a "team" mentality.
