Basic Job Functions:
The Group Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to the supervision, development and success of Detailers and Checkers by providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the members of their group. The Group Lead is also responsible for the management of all projects detailed by their group and ensuring all commitments are met. The Group Lead is responsible for grading and estimating detailing/checking time for jobs. Additionally, the Group Lead will be directly involved in the selection process, interview, hiring and training of new team members. All of this will be done with an emphasis on safety, quality, and cost efficiency as it applies to the individual and division. This position requires a willingness to work more than 40 hours, when required, to meet commitments. This position is located at the Fort Payne, Al plant. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ 1-year Joist/Deck Detailing Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience in a leadership role
+ 2 or 4-year degree in any of the following: CAD, Architectural Technology, or Engineering Technology
+ Previous experience with SAP, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Tekla
