What you will do
As an Associate Prototype Build Project Leader, you be responsible for:
+ Supporting cross-functional work related to prototypes together with representatives from product development, purchasing and manufacturing.
+ Ensuring that all prototypes needed for the verification and validation in the development projects are delivered on time and with the right quality.
+ Guaranteeing prototypes are assembled in the production plants or in internal workshops, and you are key to supporting the on-time delivery of prototype builds for verification testing.
+ Acting as a support member of the engineering Project Management Team and working closely with project managers, technology leaders, buyers, workshop personnel as well as the development and verification teams.
+ Taking ownership of prototype test object build readiness and deliverables.
+ Securing that test object bills of material are properly maintained in accordance with the build and retrofit activities.
Your future team
Our team, Prototype Builds, is a part of the Complete Vehicle team for Volvo Group North America. We provide Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta, Volvo Bus and Governmental Sales with all prototype vehicles and components needed for tests. We are responsible to deliver all rigs, mockups, mules, and prototypes to support all Group Trucks Technology powertrain and vehicle projects. We also cooperate closely with manufacturing and purchasing to assemble prototypes in the Volvo Group plants.
In Prototype Builds, our team is skilled in project management, product specification, prototype procurement, and prototype product assembly. Our engaged team is located in Greensboro, NC and Dublin, VA. Our global prototype builds colleagues are located in Gothenburg, Lyon, Hagerstown, Curitiba, and Bangalore.

You are someone who takes ownership for their deliverables and can independently drive and complete tasks.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Master’s Degree a plus
+ Experience in project management or involvement in project related tasks
+ Experience with prototype or experimental builds
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Good communication skills and positive mind-set
+ Technical and scientific interests: you are curious about the nature, function, and utility of things
+ Strong interest in developing relationships with stakeholders, Active in building professional networks
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
+ CAD/Creo is a plus.
