Our client, a leading manufacturing facility, is seeking a Controls and Automation Specialist to join their team. As a Controls and Automation Specialist, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a results-oriented mindset, which will align successfully with the organization.

**Job Title:** Controls and Automation Specialist

**Location:** Jacksonville, FL 32234

**Pay Range:** $80,000 - $90,000

What’s the Job?

1. Provide effective automation and controls support to enhance equipment reliability and availability.

2. Identify, troubleshoot, and repair issues in Electrical, Automation, Networks, Process, Instrumentation, and Controls Systems.

3. Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of control systems and instrumentation.

4. Support process/system improvements and monitor contractor performance for new automation or controls systems.

5. Maintain thorough documentation of all operational activities for future reference.

What’s Needed?

1. 5+ years of experience with PLCs, HMIs, servos, VFDs, electrical systems, hydraulics, controls, and pneumatics.

2. Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience as an Industrial Electrician.

3. Ability to read and interpret PLC code, schematic wiring, one-line diagrams, and P&ID process diagrams.

4. Knowledge of electrical standards, including National Electrical Code and UL508a, and familiarity with safe electrical work practices.

5. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
