Horizontal Directional Drill Operator

HDD operators are responsible for precise HDD placement, utilizing the latest in electronics to navigate the drill stem in a trenchless operation. HDD operators work under the supervision of the Superintendent.

What Do You Offer Us?

+ Individuals must be able to read prints and have knowledge of the underground processes.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

+ The ability to work safely, with or without supervision.

+ Operator must always be knowledgeable of all typical safety procedures and be able to apply them.

+ Other duties as required for business purposes.

+ Other responsibilities as directed.

+ Class A CDL w/ Tanker Endorsement Preferred.

What is Required?

+ Requires a good working knowledge of underground construction and familiarity with Horizontal Directional Drills

+ Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

+ Must have good communication skills and a positive attitude

+ A good work ethic

+ Flexibility to travel as needed

+ Must be able to stand or walk for long periods with repeated lifting (up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching

+ Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds of force frequently

+ Exertion up to 100 pounds of force occasionally

+ Walking on uneven terrain/surfaces

+ Sitting or standing for long periods of time

+ Reaching and lifting overhead frequently

+ Work environment outdoors in weather conditions that vary from freezing temperatures to heat above 90 degrees, in wet and dry conditions and in rural areas.

+ Work may be performed in confined spaces. Some exposure to odors, gases, dust and dirt may occur.

+ The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

+ May spend long periods of time driving and/or riding in line construction vehicles to reach remote areas of the service territory.

This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
