    Job Overview:

    The Mammography Technologist performs routine and advanced mammography procedures within the scope defined by regulatory and departmental standards.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    + ARRT Certification in radiography and mammography

    + Valid NJ State licensure

    + BLS through American Heart Association

    + Compliant in maintaining current continuing education credits as required by the FDA/MQSA and ACR

    Preferred:

    + Previous Mammography experience

    Scheduling Requirements:

    + Per Diem scheduling

    + Day Shift

    + Must be willing to cover other JW Breast Center sites as needed.

    Essential Functions:

    + Performs routine mammography, diagnostic mammography, breast biopsies as required. DEXA scan procedures and general x-ray s as required. Knowledge of QC for all mammography equipment. All technologists are required for coverage at satellite offices as needed

    + Assists in maintaining QA and PI functions as directed. Understands and utilizes effective infection control, such as hand washing and universal precautions

    + Reviews last mammography exam in McKesson PACS and reports in mammography RIS system Consults Radiologist and/or other

    + Maintains technical competency in all digital technology related to mammography services: Mammogrpahy RIS, IDX, Penrad, McKesson technology

    + Accesses and enters computer data for various patient and information requirements. Knowledgeable of McKesson PACS and the Mammogrpahy RIS system

    + Assists physician in coordinating information, materials and supplies before, during and after exam

    + Performs all other duties as assigned
