    -Pay Range: $79,081 - $128,710

    Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.

    Summary:

    TThe Rush Education & Career Hub (REACH) in the Office of Community Health Equity & Engagement supports education from cradle to career by providing innovative, hands-on STEM learning to under-represented youth so they can reach their academic and professional potential; increasing postsecondary education and interest in health care and STEM careers. Leveraging the academic excellence and transformational principles of RUSH, we are developing a best-in-class, diverse talent pipeline for the healthcare workforce of the future.

     

    The Senior Manager, Community Education directs and coordinates the expansion of STEM / healthcare-focused instructional and outreach programming for Gr. K-12 as part of our cradle-to-career pipeline. Lead planning, implementation, and collaboration on operational, academic, and outreach activities with community partners. . Collaborate with team members on comprehensive in-school, out-of-school and career-connected learning and engagement programs including MedSTEM, Future Ready Learning Lab, and community OutREACH. Lead the hiring, development and support of temporary staff and instructional vendor partners for robust MedSTEM academic enrichment and career exploration programs. Forge strategic relationships with new and existing stakeholders in school and community organizations to build partnerships, increase access to high-quality education and work-based learning experiences through our equity-focused, place-based learning model. . Develop educator professional development series to build capacity around industry-career focused learning; function as instructional leader and manager of education associate team. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies

    Other information:

    Bachelor’s Degree

    •Minimum of 5 years teaching experience as a certified teacher.

    . Certified teacher of math or science specifically endorsed in Biology, Physical Science or Chemistry preferred.

    •Ability to differentiate instruction and work with multi-age grouping

    • • Knowledge and understanding of program development and evaluation.

    •Strong working knowledge of formative assessment methodologies for adult learning and coaching protocols

    •Leadership or coaching experience with adult educators, including design and delivery of professional development

    •Experience and familiarity with high quality curriculum and grade-level instructional practices experience with problem-based or project-based learning.

    •Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.

    •Excellent organizational and computer skills are essential

    •Ability to solve problems independently and overcome challenges without becoming frustrated.

    •Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage and develop high performing teams, set and achieve strategic objectives and manage a budget.

    •Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills

    •Effectively adapt to rapid changes in project, priorities, and initiatives

    •Experience working with K12 schools and district administrators

    •Strong but dignified classroom management skills.

    •Willing to work some evenings and weekends.

    •Ability to travel to various Rush and partner organization sites

    Preferred Job Qualifications:

    •Current teacher’s certification

    •Familiarity and ability to develop individualized educational plans

    Responsibilities:

    Provide day-to-day leadership in the process of developing integrated strategic academic and operational plans for select STEM-healthcare enrichment and career exploration programming, including STEMagineers, REACHforIT and MedSTEM

     

    •Lead and coordinate student academic enrichment programming, including program design and logistics of activities and events at Rush sites and other locations, which include summer courses, workshops, guest speakers, field trips, work-based learning, problem-based learning, and other immersive learning experiences.

    •Manage, plan, prepare and collaborate to provide culturally relevant, standards-based grade level curriculum that meets the needs of a diverse community of students.

    •Lead development of high school educator externship focused on STEM/healthcare industry.

    •Teach and/or lead staff for STEM-related instructional enrichment with students from grades K12 of various racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, daily and on occasional weekends; incorporate authentic assessments, team and interdisciplinary teaching, cooperative learning, and integrate technology in the classroom.

    • Work closely with education leaders, higher-ed partners to facilitate collaboration and complementary programming for students.

    •Develop partnerships with educators, community members, organizations, Rush staff and faculty to support programming.

    •Support and plan parent association development activities and meetings.

    •Collaborate with team members to support school and community-based organizations with engagement experiences.

    • Co-lead development and codification of core components and curriculum for scale and expansion of the REACH model.

    •Support program research, data collection, grant submissions, proposals and reports for prospective funding and program evaluation.

    •Lead, develop and manage a team of 4-6 direct reports.
