    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:

    At General Code, Software Test Engineer is both a testing and development position. You will be developing and maintaining the test suite for a number of internal software applications. Projects will include integration test and UI test development using various automation tools for continuous integration and deployment purposes. This is a small team environment where individual contribution, collaboration, and communication are critical for success.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS PERFORMED:

    + Develop and implement manual and automated tests to increase efficiency in production operations

    + Consult with Software Development Manager as needed to clarify project requirements, suggest improvements, and develop technical specifications

    + Create and maintain documentation for testing and training purposes.

    + Provide estimates of efforts required to complete development task

    + Rigorously follow company source control, QA testing, and project management processes

    + Understand the corporate goals, strategies, philosophy, and profitability objectives, and work within and toward those objectives

    + Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge of the business’s products, production systems, and production tools

    Required Experience:

    QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

    + Experience using tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Selenium, Postman, Spock, JUnit

    + Demonstrated experience with agile, rapid prototyping, or any other iterative development process is a plus

    + Organized thinking, with excellent problem-solving ability and a willingness to think "out of the box"

    + Experience with programming languages such as Java, C# SQL, React/other modern JS framework, CSS

    + Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

    + Ability work flexibly in a variety of development environments and technologies, both current and legacy

    + Self-motivated and able to work independently

    + Effective written communication skills
