    **I. Job Summary** : Working alongside the commercial team, the role focuses on structuring RNG transactions optimizing and monetizing commodities (physical natural gas, RINs, LCFS credits, OR CFP credits, etc.) from RNG sales/utilization, and initiating new monetization opportunities through emerging regulatory and market-based programs. The successful candidate will be a key contributor and lead discussions on impactful news and events that affect differentiated gas markets in North America and abroad, the WMRE portfolio of assets and the commercial strategy in general. Emphasizing teamwork, collaboration, independent thought leadership with and through insightful and contextual input into commercial opportunities are crucial qualities for success in this position.

    **II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities** :

    1. **Deal Structuring** : Oversee the structuring of deals for RNG sales and RNG commodity (RIN, LCFS credit, OR CFP credit, etc.) to align with organizational commodity exposure goals.

    2. **ERM Collaboration** : Work with WM Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team to manage commodities in compliance with policies.

    3. **Strategy / Tactical Assessment** : Assess long term and short term strategies and tactics and identify areas for data analysis improvement (e.g., fleet data, RNG production data).

    4. **Strategic Communication** : Communicate with senior management, functional leaders, and team leaders to contribute to the strategic vision and integrate diverse ideas regarding trading, commercial strategy management and analytical insight.

    5. **Regulatory Tracking** : Track and manage updates on regulatory and legislative changes affecting RNG and environmental attributes, collaborating closely with the Compliance, Finance, Fleet and commercial adjacent teams.

    6. **Support Business Units** : Provide support to other business units related to RNG and other activities as needed.

    7. **Market Analysis** : Independently provide insightful information on commercial opportunities based on macro and micro market trends, current news, and reliable sources.

    8. **Entrepreneurial Research** : Research specific tasks within the renewable markets to minimize risk and/or enhance commercial economics. Take ownership of researching opportunities to add value to the commercial pipeline.

    III. Qualifications

     

    The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

     

    A. Education and Experience

    + Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in business administration, or similar area of study preferred, or High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years or relevant experience required.

    + Experience: 4-6 years of previous experience including analytics, energy optimization, and structuring of RNG transactions.

    B. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

    + Comprehensive knowledge of the North American RNG voluntary and compliance markets.

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    + Ability to thrive in a startup-like, entrepreneurial environment.

    + Strong teamwork and self-motivation skills.

    + Proficiency with physical natural gas market logistics and common platforms managing environmental attributes (EAs).

    Collaborative, both within immediate team and the wider business

    Physical Requirements Category: Houston, TX -Office and Administrative Support

     

    Hybrid Schedule: Monday-Thursday in Office, Friday at Home
