Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Clinical Coordinator, Ambulatory Services and the Registered Nurse for Endoscopy, the Endoscopy Technician is responsible for nursing care and related assistance to patients undergoing endoscopic pro-cedures on an inpatient or an outpatient basis.

III. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A. Previous experience in surgical services or endoscopy preferred.

B. Current verification of competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

IV. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

A. Physical Activity--Dictionary of Occupational Titles: Strength Rating: M.

B. Working Hazards or Risks--routine hazards and risks in-volved in performing nursing activities, including potential exposure to infectious processes, potential exposure to hazardous substances, potential exposure to radiation hazards, potential musculoskeletal injuries.

C. OSHA Blood Borne Risk Category I.
