    The Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks educational leaders to join the Department of Pediatrics as an Associate Professor or Professor in the University Tenure Line, University Medical Line or Clinician Educator Line. Candidates must be board certified in Pediatrics and possess substantial experience as an educational leader, mentor, and scholar. The successful candidate(s) will have experience creating educational vision and strategic plans, leading education programs and initiatives, studying the impact of educational interventions, delivering feedback, and providing professional development to learners, faculty, and staff.

     

    + The predominant criterion for appointment in the **University Tenure Line** is a major commitment to research and teaching.

    + The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the **University Medical Line** shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

    + The major criterion for appointment as **Clinician Educator** is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

     

    Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

     

    National Leader in Pediatric Education

     

    We are seeking visionary national leaders in pediatric education to drive innovative educational initiatives and enhance training programs across the pediatric continuum. The ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for teaching, a commitment to improving pediatric healthcare through education, and a strong understanding of graduate medical education. In addition, we are seeking educational scholars, who have published studies with significant impact. They will have a profound understanding of pediatric education, demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, and a commitment to mentorship and scholarly activities. Key responsibilities include:

     

    + Developing and implementing strategic educational frameworks that align with national standards and best practices.

    + Leading collaborative efforts to enhance pediatric training programs and initiatives at the national level.

    + Fostering an environment of academic excellence and professional development for educators and trainees.

    + Engaging with stakeholders to advocate for advancements in pediatric education and policy.

     

    We expect the successful candidate to assist the Department Chair in fostering an environment that values and promotes all pediatric education programs, serving as the advocate for investment and improvement in these programs. The successful candidate will: (1) collaborate with others to develop high quality educational programs; (2) lead the department in developing and implementing educational innovations; (3) conduct and disseminate educational scholarship; (4) mentor others to become educational leaders and scholars; (5) be involved in national educational organizations and will support others in developing their national involvement and leadership.

     

    The Department of Pediatrics is a leader in education, and dedicated to teaching and mentoring high school students, college students, medical students, residents, fellows, postdoctoral scholars, faculty, and staff. Located on the Stanford University campus, the Department of Pediatrics provides unique opportunities for an educational leader to partner with thought leaders across the 7 undergraduate and graduate schools at Stanford to promote interdisciplinary and collaborative innovation.

     

    Candidates may be considered for the roles of Associate Chair of Education and Assistant Dean of GME, Stanford Medicine Children’s Health (SMCH). These roles are described in greater detail below.

    _The expected base pay range for this position is:_

     

    _Associate Professor: $184k - $435k_

     

    _Professor: $238k - $499k_

     

    This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
