    DESCRIPTION

    We are looking for an experienced Diesel engine field service technician to join our team for our Kenner (Louisiana) location.

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    + Establishes and continually develops productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.

    + Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site.

    + Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.

    + Escalates unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisor.

    + Coaches and develops technicians and/or apprentices and transfers knowledge and experience to others; may provide work direction; may review repair plans, parts lists, etc.

    + Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Identifies additional sales and service opportunities with customer.

    + Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.

    + Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

    + Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

    Education, Licenses, Certifications:

    + Trained Engine Technician is an asset.

    + Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.

    + Locally valid driving permit is mandatory for this position.

    + Clean driving record is mandatory for this position.

    + This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience:

    + Significant level field service work experience.

    + Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

    + Customer service experience.

    + High horsepower engine experience.

    + Marine engine experience is a strong asset for this position.

    About the role:

    + This is a customer facing role with on-call rotation every 4th week.

    + Working hours are Monday-Friday (12-hour days) -Starting at 730am.

    + This is a field service position working on heavy duty, high horsepower and marine mid-range engines.

    Base salary rate commensurate with experience.     QUALIFICATIONS

    The level for this position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and skill set. Qualifications for different technician levels:

     

    - Technician Level I: Limited relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on a minimal number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics; requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

     

    - Technician Level II: Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

     

    - Technician Level III: Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets

    DOT

    - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

     

    - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

     

    - A current valid license is required for this role

     

    - Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience

     

    - This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

     

    - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
