    Position Description

    Primary purpose:

    Lead a premier group of dedicated people in the management and operation of Kinder Morgan’s prolific Yates Field located in Iraan, TX. The field is comprised of 1300 (550 producers, 120 injectors, and remainder shut in) wells ranging in age from 5 to 99 years old. Current production is 13,500 BOPD, 390 MMSCFD gas, 460,000 BWPD, and 30 MMSCFD of extraneous CO2 injection. Operations include gas/water/oil gathering and transmission to stations and central batteries. Gas is handled at the Yates Gas Plant, TR75 NGL Plant, and satellite compressor stations. Average H2S content of the produced gas is 2.5%. The Yates Field Operations Manager leads the entire field operation of 85+ employees with an average of 10 direct reports ranging from Managers to hourly personnel. This position is the lead liaison between the local community leaders and on-site visits from government/regulatory agencies. The position is highly demanding often requiring rapid yet good business decision making that furthers public and employee trust and protects the asset.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    + Maintain, foster, and support a safe work environment, safe work practices, and environmental stewardship that is second to none in the industry.

    + Act as on-site incident commander in emergency situations.

    + Prepare, maintain, and execute operating and capital budgets recognizing key business drivers.

    + Lead technical staff in generating innovative operation methods to measure, predict, and maximize oil recovery from the reservoir.

    + Direct team in generating workover/repair operations of wells.

    + Develop staff members, including field engineers.

    + Sheppard the execution of operations projects in a safe and timely manner.

    + Support capital projects with ideas and staff.

    + Provide leadership and direction in all HR matters and set the highest ethical standards.

    Position Requirements

    Position Requirements: Minimum requirements:

    Education:

    Experience / specific knowledge:

    10-year minimum experience in oil and gas industry with at least 3 years in progressive supervision/management role.

    Certifications, licenses, registrations:

    Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

    Competencies, skills, and abilities:

    + Ability to reenforce a strong safety culture.

    + Proven track record in managing oil and gas operations in a safe and efficient manner.

    + Knowledge of CO2 EOR operations.

    + Excellent communicator with the team, operations, Kinder Morgan management and public officials.

    + Able to work in a fast-paced environment, frequently under pressure, on multiple tasks.

    + Well-developed interpersonal skills.

    + Experience in Microsoft applications and well versed in making/generating presentations.

    + Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details

    Working conditions:

    Subject to extended hours and callout.

    Supervisory responsibility:

    The Yates Operations Manager leads the Production Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Maintenance Departments with an average of 10 direct reports including administrative help.
