Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000 foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities.
The School of Education faculty is comprised of educator-scholars whose expertise spans diverse learning contexts and populations. Innovative instruction, diversity/equity/inclusion, technology-enhanced learning, distance education, service learning, professional development school partnerships, and rigorous research are embodied in all of our programs. Our faculty members’ philosophies and areas of expertise, along with the School’s core values, guide our pedagogical and inquiry practices, which are typically both interdisciplinary and applied. The Student Affairs in Higher Education ( SAHE ) program is designed for students seeking a career in one of a variety of education and service areas constituting student affairs administration within a postsecondary setting. SAHE’s core principles are critical reflection and praxis, the application of theory to practice, and transformative learning.

Position Summary
The School of Education seeks applications from individuals who are interested in securing a temporary instructor position within the Student Affairs and Higher Education program for the 2024 – 2025 academic year. Instructors teach face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses in areas of their expertise and are hired periodically for fall, spring, and/or summer term, contingent upon enrollments and need. Reappointment may depend upon performance and the availability of funding.

Conditions of EmploymentPre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires)
Required Job Qualifications
+ Earned master’s degree in student affairs/higher education leadership or a related field
+ Experience and demonstrated excellence in student affairs practice
+ Formal or informal teaching experience in student affairs, higher education, or related areas
+ At least three years of professional work experience in a higher education setting
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Earned terminal degree in student affairs/higher education leadership, law, or a related field
+ Experience teaching graduate or professional students via face-to-face or distance technologies
+ Commitment to and ability to engage issues of social identity and equity in the graduate classroom
+ Ability to support students’ application of theory to practice
