    The Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine is seeking a provider for a full-time faculty position. This role will help expand our clinical footprint within Baltimore, Maryland. Clinical leadership opportunities may be available for highly qualified and successful candidates.

     

    The position involves collaboration with the Directors of Clinical and Research Operations, along with other Divisional and Departmental leadership, to advance the division's clinical, research, and educational missions. The focus will be on enhancing care for Geriatric patients, developing specialized clinical programs, and providing education to post-doctoral fellows, residents, interns, and medical students.

     

    Essential Job Functions

     

    + Deliver complex medical care to adult patients in outpatient settings at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

    + Provide inpatient consultation for patients at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

    + Lead and contribute to the development of clinical programs.

    + Teach and mentor medical students, residents, interns, and fellows, with opportunities to teach on the general medicine service.

    Qualifications

    • A Doctoral degree is required.

    • 1-3 years of related experience is required.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

    • Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups constructively and civilly while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures, nationalities, genders, ages, etc.

    • Ability to utilize existing resources and learning to achieve or exceed desired outcomes of current and future organizational goals/needs. Able to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations while producing results.

    • Knowledge of practices, behaviors, applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing proper research conduct; ability to demonstrate ethical and compliant behavior in diverse situations.

    • Knowledge of the procedures and programs in place in the organization to ensure employee, student, and subject safety (occupational safety, fire, patient, animal, drug, radiation, environmental safety, and emergency plans); ability to train others; ability to take appropriate actions in case of emergency.

    The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.

     

    The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Medicine faculty compensation program or pay from participation in the Department of Medicine incentive compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the Division

     

    Salary: Assistant Professor: $155K-$170K Associate Professor: $205K-$215K Professor: $250K-$300K

    The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
