Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will develop and apply specific technical expertise in the field of construction, obtained through education, experience, and/or professional certifications. You will serve as a civil construction Engineering Technician and provide engineering support services in the field of construction contracts primarily between the Navy/Marine Corps/Air Force and private contractors. You will provide overall coordination of the construction quality management program for assigned projects. You will take appropriate and timely action to ensure contractor compliance of safety and health requirements, including leading safety stand-downs as required. You will investigate engineering problems that may arise on construction contracts, such as unforeseen conditions, contractor requests for information (RFIs), and dimension conflicts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) evaluating and assuring the Quality Control efforts of the construction contractor. Reviews and provide recommendations towards approval of the contractor quality control plan; 2) ensuring contractors are adhering to their safety plans; 3) supporting the Contracting Officer with administration of construction contracts including site visits, badging, labor interviews, and constructability reviews. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
