    **Duration:** Length of the assignment: 3 months

     

    M-F, 9-5 (flexible)

     

    + The Genomic Research Center Computational Oncology group (GRC-CO) is seeking a highly motivated computational biologist/bioinformatics scientist to play an integral role in a multi-disciplinary team focused on developing new therapies for the treatment of cancer. GRC is a center of excellence for bioinformatics, functional genomics, human genetics, and genomic medicine.

    + The GRC works across all R&D as well as other areas such as process sciences and corporate strategy.

    + The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment to contribute to **oncology discovery** and clinical development programs (including therapies based on antibody-drug conjugates, small molecule inhibitors, protein degraders, etc.).

    + They will be responsible for formulating scientific questions into coherent analytical efforts, developing rigorous statistical modeling and bioinformatics methods, integrating large scale multi-modal datasets to derive quantitative biological insights, and communicating scientific findings to project teams.

    Top 5 skills/requirements this person is required

    + Required Skill 1: NGS analysis (RNAseq, WES, CRISPR screen etc.)

    + Required Skill 2: R and python

    + Required Skill 3: experience with HPC clusters, cloud compute, docker containers/apptainers or similar

    + Required Skill 4: data visualization (ggplot2, plotly, etc.)

    + Required Skill 5: good communication skills

    Years of experience, education, and/or certification is required

    + PhD. Degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, mathematics, computer science, genomics, cancer biology, immunology, or a related field.

    + Master’s degree with typically 3-5 years of experience.

    + Bachelor’s degree with typically 6-8 years of experience.

    Nice to have (but not required)

    + oncology background, especially in cancer biology, tumor dependencies, signaling pathways

    + Predictive modeling, machine learning, statistics

    + Rshiny, data visualization dashboard development

    + Version control, github, shell

    + Strong publication record

    + Support of programs in early to **late stage discovery drug pipeline.**

    + Prior research work in **oncology bioinformatics analysis** , either in academia or industry
