Job Title: CNC Technician

Classification: Hourly

Department: Tooling

Reports To: Tooling Supervisor

Position:   Nights

Purpose:

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

General Duties:

+ Verify integrity of data through the confirmation of sign offs on process documentation.

+ Maintain sanctity of the work space through the enforcement of 5s principals.

+ Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

+ Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.

+ Sets-up mills and lathes by installing tools, attachments, collets, stops, vices, etc.

+ Maintains specifications by observing cutting, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming software.

+ Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements (PM), troubleshooting minor maintenance issues, and calling for repairs.

+ Accomplishes departmental goals by taking ownership of the machining process.

Skills:

+ Required Education & Experience:

+ Associate’s Degree in machining or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

+ Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule.

+ Follow Supervisors/Foreman direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co-workers.

+ Ability to develop and execute a detailed daily plan.

+ Strong Problems solving skills and efficient management of time and resources.

Preferred:

+ Prior experience in metals manufacturing environment.

+ (3-5) Years past experience in machining or related field.

+ Previous CNC experience (operation/programming).

Physical Requirements:

+ Sit/Stand/Walk 8 hrs./day

+ Ability to lift 75 lbs.
